Sage Meadow Ranch: A Horseback Riding Adventure You’ll Never Forget

As I arrived at Sage Meadow Ranch, I was greeted by the stunning views of South Dakota’s natural beauty.

The ranch is located between Prindle and Hot Springs in the Southern Black Hills, and the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking.

I was excited to embark on a three-hour horseback riding adventure through hundreds of acres of beautiful land, and it did not disappoint.

The owner and guide, Holly, was warm and welcoming, making me feel comfortable on my horse from the very beginning.

Her horses were well-trained and responded to direction with ease, which made the ride feel more casual and enjoyable.

As we rode side by side, I was able to take in the stunning views of the open plains and wooded areas, with views as far as Wyoming and Nebraska.

One of the highlights of the ride was the lookout point, where I was able to take in the views of the original stagecoach trail still embedded in the ground.

Holly was very informative about her land and its history, making the ride not only enjoyable but also educational.

The ride was not too difficult, but there were some tight areas where I had to trust the horse to take care of me.

I would recommend wearing long sleeves and pants as you do brush up against trees and low lying plants.

Holly also has some very friendly cats on the property who are there to greet you while she saddles up the horses.

Overall, my horseback riding adventure at Sage Meadow Ranch was a 10 out of 10.

Holly’s attention to safety and comfort with the horses made the experience most enjoyable, and I would gladly drive the distance again to experience the horseback ride and hospitality at Sage Meadow Ranch.
