I couldn’t resist trying their delicious ginger cider and cider donuts, which were the perfect local flavor to add to my trip.

You can choose from edible grapes, sour cherries, pears, peaches, and numerous apple varieties.

The owner, Nick Cowles, is a real character and worth meeting if he’s around.

Tractor and wagon transport is often provided free of charge, making it easy to enjoy the orchards at your own pace.

But the highlight of my visit had to be the abundance of apples this year.

They were brighter, bigger, and more plentiful than ever before.
